Wet Suit for Spring in New England?

I just started last year and went with board shorts in the summer and a Springsuit into fall. I'd like to start surfing again now, but wasn't sure which thickness. Would a 5/4 be good from now until June? Assuming I also bought booties, hood, gloves etc.

Magic Seaweed seems to show 6/5 for now and a 4/3 for June. I was hoping to find a compromise that would allow surfing from Spring to Fall without owning 3 wet suits.

I was going to go with QuikSilver Synchro, since it seems reasonably priced and their springsuit fits well.

    Thanks,

    CC

ideally you want 3 wetsuits, but you can get away with two if they are good suits and you take care of them. an xcel drylock 3/2 and a dryclock 5/4 will get you through all 4 seasons of NE surfing.

Do NOT pay attention to Magic Seaweed--they are a bunch of idiot limmeys (brits) that don't know their arse from a hole in the wall regarding our waters.
As for "drylocks"--- I would steer clear from any drylock xcel that is thicker tha 4mm, as any thicker is incredibly hard to get out of, very hard. 4/3 is good, but no thicker. My Ripcurl 5/4 Insulator is perfect and easy on and easy off. I hate fighting with wetsuits. If you prefer a 6mm, get the Xcel Infinity....it is the best winter suit for the area, but it gets used only 2-3 months per annum
    All just opinion.
good luck and have fun---go to Cinammon Rainbows for selection and help New Hampshire)

I would go with a 4/3. Check out the "department of goods" website, they
have some really good deals on rubber.

Those Xcel Drylocks seem pretty pricey. You think something like a QuikSilver Synchro 4/3 + A Hood + Fleece Vest combo would work from May until Summer?

I'd agree with bostonsurf, you only need two. a 3/2 and 5/4 at most. i have a 3/2mm XFlex X-Zip Wetsuit that i got off whiskey militia for $108 including shipping. I've been wearing it for over 2 months in water above 42 degrees. can get chilly if the wind is up, but overall i can put in a solid 2+ hours in it. ThermoBamboo? I highly recommended a drylock to a back zippered suit. few things worse than that cold water flush down the back.
