He indeed said I didn't know the etymology (true). But he did so in reference to "most" and then added the word "either". I think my interpretation was fair. In any case, it's disappointing he won't take the challenge. I was running the theme of Rocky in my head as I visualized paddling out through three lines of foam to get outside of overhead closeouts as part of my conditioning routine.
I heard ride could find smoking 3 packs of cigarettes easier than
Padding through 3 lines of whitewater
ive met guys that are really solid surfers that i consider kooks because they are fucking assholes. they are good surfers but they are cocky, so they are kooks. but thats just one of the meanings. i think just like any other word, kook can mean different things. me and my friends call each other kooks as a term of endearment. if you take shit too seriously, youre a kook. not serious enough, youre a kook. who the fuck cares. words only have as much power and meaning as you are willing you give them. bring the word back, but then bring all the words back.
"Take nothing I say seriously; it is all for banter"
Do you guys know why "kook" was banned in the first place? If you don't know, maybe venture a guess.
I think I've used kook several times. Does it count if it's in reference to yourself?
What's the big deal? I think it mostly reflects on the guy who slings it. Like that guy that called me a dipshit a few years ago...
