    New shortboard model

I shaped this winged round tail shortboard as a all-around everyday board for my friend Nick in RI. It’s meant to be ridden 3” to 4” shorter and 1” wider than a normal shortboard. Full plan shape with a straighter outline in the center is offset by the wing in the tail providing a release point.

    5'5" x 18.75" x 2.125"

Putting the wings in was a bit of a challenge. I have a method to do it now.

Nick did rip on it, super fast!

It's 6.75 lbs, pretty light. I'll get Nick to send me a ride report to share with you guys.

They are usually around 7 lbs, think this one is a little less since it is so small.

Nick posted this ride report on the Spirare facebook wall:

"hey kevin, here's a ride report on my new 5'5"x18.75x2.125. i rode it last week on friday(with you) and on sunday with carter. i'm really loving it! the width and forward center line make it catch waves super easy, but the good amount of nose rocker and pulled in tail make it surf like a high performance shortboard. crazy fast too! thanks again, cant wait to get back out there. everyone should get one of these!"
