i've been surfing about a dozen times, borrowing friends stuff and need to get my own. i'm 6'2", 200lbs and want a 7'-8' board and a winter suit, i'm willing to spend about $200 on a board and around $125 on a suit. if anyone has something for me let me know, i'm down in the new bedford area but willing to drive for a deal.

Go talk to Dave at Cinnamon Rainbows or drive down to RI...you can usually score a decent used board for cheap, maybe not as cheap as you are looking for, but cheap, especially this time of year. You might concider a new wet suit...you do know what people do in wetsuits right? If you can handle the cold temps, winter might be a good time to hone your skills assuming you can catch waves and paddle? If you can't do that, wait and join the summer crowds, you will freeze to death flailing about in the shore break! Good luck and DO NOT paddle out if you are unsure of your . Drop the cash if you are committed you won't regret it...if your not you can always sell.

Actually it was $243, because you spent 7 on lunch! You are either a master negotiator or just really hungry. :)

I put it towards a 6'7" Al Merrick, got it waxed up and am also waiting for waves... Have fun mrudy.
