For trade, I have a 9' 4" x 22" x 2 7/8" Hobie Fusion, rounded pin, with light blue bottom and rails, single fin. It is in great shape, with a few ding repairs and a fin box repair done by 2SI (happened shortly after I bought the board two years ago). There are no dents, delams or yellowing. It's a great all-around log, not too heavy, but still a pretty early takeoff. I've ridden the nose at point breaks. It works well from 0' to chest+.

I'm looking for something a little heavier, less a noserider and more of a cruiser. Early takeoff is my goal. Ideally, it would have pinched rails and more belly than my Hobie Fusion.

After some research, something like a G&S Redfin or some of the Harbour cruisers would be ideal.

And, of course, my Hobie Fusion made of 100% pure, legendary, "Clark Foam."

Email to trade pics.

thanks, ed

Eddy,

I have a 9'-6" G&S Liberator; it's not really a noserider, although in a point-wave situation or lined-up surf you can step to the nose (no concave). The nose does not have much entry rocker, which helps for early planing. The tail has a fair amount of rocker and it turns great from the tail in big and small surf (it’s actually great in all surf, but really excels in chest to overhead). I am looking for more of a noserider and your Hobie sounds like it might be more of a noserider than the Liberator.
See this link for info on the liberator: http://www.gordonandsmith.com/surfboards/index.htm

The liberator is under the “performance” category on the right side of the screen. My board is white on bottom; the top is blue fade to middle, with yellow around the perimeter along the top of the rail (but not around rail). It is a heavier board with a nice strong glass job over a Clark “super green” density blank (one step heavier/stronger than the “super blue”).
