Someone went in my car this afternoon Thurs. 6/15/06 (alberto remnant swell) while I was surfing.. between 6:30 and dark.... I could swear that I locked it but maybe someone saw me put the keys in place X
My wallet, pants and boxers were stolen... I had to drive back home in just a shirt...
PM if you might have seen anything suspicious in the Point judith parking lot.....

Ahh the mysterious pants bandit....
What car was yours?

my wallet was chained to my pants... and my boxers were in my pants... so that could be why someone decided to grab it all as quickly as possible rather than waste time taking the chain off!

Your suit doesn't have a key pocket?

I would never trust a wetsuit pocket with the key to my car, your best option is to bring it down to the where the grass or headland ends and the rocks begin and stash it somewhere around there, and not at your car. people have been catching onto surfers stashing there keys in the gas cap or under a bumper or tires. That sucks tho, i would be pretty bullshit having to drive home in the nudes, was the surf any good?

Where were you parked and what kind of car? Are you local to PJ?

I'm going to respectfully disagree. If you have a decent fitting suit, you'd have to get worked pretty damn hard for it to start moving around.

palabra
I've always worried about "stashing" my keys anywhere. Too many eyes around. SO.....I use a surfwallet with a small zipper compartment. Put it in my trunk pocket, put on wetsuit. No problemo. Another place you can stash your car key is in your LEASH. On most of the modern leashes, there's a small flap on the ankle end that velcro's over a place to store a key. that's what it's for. Works great in winter when you want to get to your key as quickly as possible. Works great too.

You wear trunks under your wetsuit? What's up with that?

He likes the chafe....and the feeling of something larger in his pants.
I used to go trunkless until one day I accidently stepped on my cock when popping up on a rather large wave. Most guys don't have this problem. It is a burden I bear.

Okay, I understand now. You should change your screen name to Holmes.

My problem whs not with the suit but the cold, took my key out while on the beach, my hands were so cold I could not feel it fall into the sand. Lesson don't take you key out on the beach. Walked down the beach to a local surf shop, had to call my wife to come down with an extra key, that was one cold walk.

Next time, take your girlfriend with you and make her sit in the car and guard your stuff. That works every time! They love being the groupie.
:surf:
Oh, thanks for the cash. It only got me a forty and some cheetos, but free nonetheless and you betta put clean boxers on before leaving the house. I got a mile down the road and had to ditch them before I puked.

Just messing with ya. I am sorry for finding humor in your angst. I totally understand the frustration.
It sucks that people have to be so defensive of posessions because there are shitheads out there that feel that they can take what they want.
It'll come back to bite them!

Sorry to hear you got your shit stolen man. Eventually these fucks crack habits will catch up to them.
The leash collar key stash is a good tip. After my car got broken into (they didnt bother to look for the key in the gascap, they just smashed the window) I started wearing my car key on a lanyard under my suit. Just make sure it hangs down your back not your chest, cuz it rests right on the solar plexus and digs every time you paddle.

sucks about the theft...that's why we all have to look out for each others' shit...i know who drives what (for the most part) at my regular break, and if i'm in the lot, i keep an eye on things...and if i'm in the water, i'd hope they'd do the same for me.
locking your car doesn't do it these days - gotta have bros.
if you can't live without it, leave it at home

Sorry to hear about that...I was there late afternoon that day, left around 4pm. Just wanted to say I do not like to hear about this kind of thing...:(
Good luck tracing any leads.

Is the area it was parked in US Government property? It's a coast guard station, isn't it?
Just wanted to clarify ... because if anybody is caught for this, remember that any crime taking place on US government property falls under federal jurisdiction, and can be tried in US District Court as a federal offense. Anything from littering to drug possession to murder, doesn't matter. Federal offense.
